Andrea Perry, MHNP Intern
Hi! I’m Andrea (she/her/hers). I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner student in my last semester at UT Austin School of Nursing, where I am pursuing additional training through Dell Medical School’s Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars program specializing in youth and families.
As a nurse, I approach health (including mental health) and wellbeing holistically. How we feel is influenced by our history, our environment, our communities, our bodies, and the stresses we carry. I believe that caring relationships are among the most powerful forces in our lives and that psychotherapy is the way we make some of the most long-lasting changes that improve our mental health.
My approach to therapy is influenced by neurobiology, attachment theory, and psychodynamic principles, and, with a decade of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, I bring additional strengths in providing exceptionally trauma-informed care.
I’m very excited to spend the spring semester working with and learning from the Prism team.
