Lita Hickey, LCSW

Hello! I’m Lita Hickey (she/her) – and I’m excited to get to know you.
When individuals experience mental health situations, it is not unusual for their lives to unwind. My purpose, values, and passion are making a difference and helping people “feel better” who are encountering depression, anxiety, and life adjustments (grief, retirement, divorce, domestic violence, and postpartum depression as such). I assist and support my clients, including adults, the elderly, LBGTQ, and families, to discover healthy perceptions of themselves, so they are peaceful, worthy, productive, and safe.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and based on kindness, genuineness, unconditional positive regard, respect, trust, empathy, nonjudgmental and strength-based. It is essential as I care for and support individuals to identify their primary concerns and collaboratively develop appropriate goals ad treatment while gathering insight into the possible root of the problem. I provide an eclectic array of therapeutic modalities and integrate my skill set of establishing rapport quickly, positive and effective communication, and being an empathetic listener.
My educational background includes an MSW, Graduate School of Social Work from the University of Hawaii-Manoa on Oahu. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and certified as an LCSW in Texas, Hawaii, and Florida. I also have a Certification from the University of Hawaii-Manoa in Developmental Disabilities.
I am caring, outgoing, social, and friendly. I enjoy swimming, sailing, and walking; I have run a marathon and run races, socializing with friends, traveling domestically and internationally, and enjoying musical concerts, museums, movies, and plays.
